Flashback Friday

I'm flashing us back to when I was 19, living in Alaska like a crazy hippie. Except I wasn't a hippie, but the pictures make me look like I was. These pictures were taken at the Girdwood Forest fair. If you're interested in seeing some pictures from Forest Fair's of the past, click here. Honestly, the Forest Fair was one of the coolest things about living in Alaska. Alaska truly is the last frontier. Imagine a bunch of people who just want to make their own way no matter what, and you've pretty much got a glimpse of what living there was like for me. My cousin Tom came to visit us during this time, so you can see him eating some "cookies" below.

And that's Sam, my sister. She came to live with me fresh out of high school at only 17! I'm such a responsible big sister taking care of her (yeah right). I miss Alaska sometimes.

  4. This makes me want to go to Alaska even more than I did before. We could have gotten stationed there but I don't want to live that far away. Louisiana was far enough away as it is.

    Beautiful pictures!

  6. We REALLY want to get stationed in Alaska. With the job my husband has now, its a possibility. With the job he wants to cross train into... its not :(

Love those pictures. You don't look like a hippie, you just look like you live in Alaska, hee hee.
