Flashback Friday

Josh's basic military training graduation!

It was the first real time we had been separated from each other, and let me tell you, IT WAS PURE TORTURE! I look back on it now and realize how small the amount of time was (6 weeks) and how I had it pretty good compared to what we go through now. But either way, it was a big deal for us.

I can't believe Josh graduated from basic training only 2 and a half years ago... it's really felt like a lifetime to be honest.

I chose to not put a bunch of pics of the actual graduation because they're boring. And really no fun. Not that these are super exciting... but when I look at them I remember how excited I felt to actually see Josh again. And it was kinda crazy how skinny he got too. He lost like 20 pounds or something like that....

  4. Just came across your blog! I remember being separated from my husband (then boyfriend) for the first time while he was at boot camp. It was the longest 13 weeks I'd ever experienced (until deployments then those were the worst 7 months). But, the good thing about being apart from your husband is you always have another chance to have a first kiss. And it's amazing!!!

  9. I've been to Lackland twice - once for myself (June, July & August - yuck!) and once for my ex (Feb - brrr!). Time really does fly though 6 weeks away at basic definitely does not. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.

  10. Wow, still can't imagine being apart that long. We did do long distance for 4 years of our 8 years together.
