Let's eat

I baked homemade chocolate chip cookies today for Josh and Wyatt. Funny, since I just did that no sugar eating post, but I swear I didn't eat any. Yes, I may have licked my fingers, but I'm not counting that. :)

I've been really into the idea of baking lately. Not only did I bake those cookies, but I also made some Irish Soda bread that was pretty banging. I'm super thrilled with it. I'm looking for awesome bread making ideas. Send me your healthy recipes please!

Josh living the good life.
Also, he's pretty much murder me if he knew I was posting a picture of him without his head shaved. Denial.

And now for shits and giggles, here's the chocolate chip cookie recipe. Pretty basic.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup of white sugar (I used turbinado sugar since that's all I had)
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
3 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons of hot water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate

1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in the hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour and chocolate chips. Drop by large spoonfuls on ungreased pan.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes (but for some reason I had to bake them for 14?)
