Heather is pretty much the BEST. She's my friend from high school and she has a suuuuuper great etsy shop and cute blog. I love that she's always posting tutorials and DIY projects. It makes me realize how terrible I am at anything that involves talent or skill.
"I began sewing about five years ago. After graduation I got a job as an intern in a theatre. One of my first assignments was to assist the costume designer in an upcoming production. I was psyched and had a ton of ideas- and questions. During our first meeting I asked where we took the costumes to be altered. She looked at me and said, "Well you'll do that of course." I admitted that I had no idea how to sew. She looked very taken aback and sputtered, "But.. you're a woman!" I couldn't believe my ears.. was she for real? That night I went to my in laws for dinner and ranted about how my cool job was suddenly not so great after all. That Christmas my mother-in-law gave me a sewing machine as a joke. And one snowy weekend I decided to pull the thing out and see if I could figure it out..."
