If I've learned anything in the almost 3 years I've been a parent, it's that water is the best distraction of all time. Especially in these summer months, when your kids are hot and cranky, or cooped up in the house with too much energy... stick their asses in water.
But unfortunately for us, we're living with in-laws, and the thrill of the bath is no more for Wyatt (um, temper tantrums over bathing lately, ugh...) so we have to take things outside, and we have to improvise. We don't have a pool, but we DO have large storage containers... which honestly, what's the difference? So lately we've been filling up a really large bucket of water and letting the kids play in it, around it, throw toys in it, whatever. In fact, the kids have been "snorkeling" in it, which is a little bit sad, but they love it so who am I to judge?
