I've lost 9.5lbs on Medifast in 2 weeks! #Medifast

I have a confession to make - I have gained 30 pounds. Most of it was from my move to California. I seriously just went a little crazy. I had to try ALL THE FOODZ and I was also very stressed about being in limbo with our living situation for so long. For me, eating is very much a social thing, and so Josh and I would go out to a restaurant when we were looking for something to do. I honestly love eating out.

I feel very guilty about this weight gain because I STILL get countless emails about my previous weightloss posts from years past. I lost a lot of weight quickly sacrificing everything and just pushing through. I'm often asked how did I have the willpower? At the time, I just did. I don't know why really? Maybe I was just fed up? I had a goal that I wanted to reach before my husband got back from deployment, and so I was determined and just did what I had to do.

(me at my lowest weight and now my new goal weight - 135lbs)

But eating "clean" was awesome up until a point... when life just keeps going and you're looking at an amazing burrito and all you know is that it needs to be in or around your facial region. That's what happened to me. Eating clean started to go out the window. I gained 10lbs back but I was okay with it, because I was running almost 5 miles a day and my clothes still fit and I was tone. I don't really care about the number on the scale (to an extent), just how my clothes fit.

After moving to California (and actually a few months before), I sort of just stopped running. I got lazy and got more and more out of shape until I completely lost my ability to run farther than a mile without stopping. I felt terrible but it just happened. Once I got to California all hell broke loose and I simply started eating way too much. Eating and eating. I ate out of boredom, because I was happy, stressed, sad, for fun... whatever. And another 20lbs was gained on top of the previous 10.

I honestly feel fed up with counting calories and points and crash dieting and whatever. I quit everything because everything just feels way too hard.

But there's a light at the end of the tunnel! I've started Medifast 2 weeks ago and I've already lost significant weight. I'm really excited about it! I plan on tracking here to let you know how I do.... or don't do. At this point I sort of just need help with losing the weight I've gained. I need to be told what to do and I just need to do it. I love Medifast because eating their products honestly takes the guesswork out for me, but it's also flexible enough that I'm still making personal choices and I don't feel too restricted.

Okay, so how does Medifast work? Pretty easy- you just eat 5 of their meals a day and one "Lean and Green" meal. I space my meals out every 2-3 hours so I'm HONESTLY never hungry. Each Medifast meal is around 100 calories, which doesn't seem like much- but when you're anticipating another meal in 2 hours, it totally sustains you throughout the day (and makes my days go by fast!). At night I have my Lean and Green meal - which consists of 7oz of lean protein and a couple handfuls of non-starchy veggies (but I don't always follow this exactly and eat starchy vegetables. I'm making this diet work for me). All of the Medifast meals are interchangeable, and you can eat your Lean and Green meal at anytime as well. I choose to have mine at night, but there are those that have it at breakfast and lunch instead. Also, you can totally eat your Lean and Green meal at a restaurant, so you're not limited to never eating out again.

At this point my plan is just to stay on Medifast until I reach my goal, but I'm not stopping there. I've learned a lot in the last 2 weeks about how to eat to rev up my metabolism and I plan on eating similarly even beyond Medifast. I like this weightloss plan because there is an easy exit option that doesn't force you to gain weight because you're not eating their products.

If you guys have any questions about Medifast, feel free to ask away in the comments or you can privately email me at irocksowhatblog at gmail dot com. I have so much to say even beyond this post. I'll be updating my progress along the way...
