Let the good leave an impression. #NaBloPoMo

I have this random memory of my 1st grade teacher hair spraying my tights and underlining of my skirt and then brushing my hair and hairspraying that too. It was winter in Maryland and the static was out of control. I was embarrassed that my mom made me wear a knitted hat (I remember! it was white!) to the bus stop and it ruined my hair and made it insanely static-y. The static had made my hair swirl and lay completely flat on my head and around my face. I kept trying to fix it but it was just getting worse. But this teacher graciously pulled me aside away from the students and fixed my hair and helped me stop my clothes from sticking to me. I can't even remember her name or her face, but I remember her long permed hair and bangs.

All of that happened over 20 years ago and I still remember it all. She was such a kind and loving teacher. I wonder what she's doing?

Anyway, what I'm getting at is this - maybe we should hold onto all the nice things that happen to us (or said to us) instead of only listening or remembering the bad. I know I'm probably not the only one who will hold onto something awful and just let it determine my LIFE. It's easier said than done. I was happy to have that memory of my 1st grade teacher helping me out and it made me smile. I want to always remember little things here and there that were awesome instead of dwelling on anything negative that comes my way. I'm gonna work on it.
