Dusted off that old Canon Rebel.

This weekend has been a bit of whirlwind. I dusted off my camera and did a few Christmas photo shoots for friends and family (I still use my camera but not normally for the purpose of taking portrait style photos). TWO days worth of shooting and editing. I remember the days when I used to take photos all day and edit all night. It's crazy how I've gotten so used to my convenient and easily ready iPhone. I'm happy for this little push in the big girl camera direction. Maybe I'll start carrying around my dslr camera more? (for those of you wondering, I just have a Canon Rebel T1i and I use the nifty fifty lens mostly, but sometimes I do like to use my kit lens.)

Anyway, I'm sharing pictures of the first shoot I did for my brother in law and sister in law. I'm pleased despite the kids not always looking at the camera (sometimes they'd completely turn their heads! Anyone have a suggestion for how to deal with that? I felt like I was a crazy person trying to get their attention!) There was some bribery involved. SOMEONE may have gotten a cupcake as a reward (me, just kidding!).

Yay for totally BS-ing my way through this whole experience!
