Taking a 3 year old on a long walk.

I was feeling guilty about Wyatt being cooped up in the house for the past few days. I mean, California has been AMAZING this week but I've been so focused on laundry and blah blah blah, that I didn't feel like leaving the house. I try to take Wyatt out as much as possible. I know some people wonder why we're always out at the stores and stuff, but we usually don't buy anything. We just get out of the house. Do you ever do that? Just "window shop". I think it's good for Wyatt to get out and walk and see people and learn how to interact in public. So yeah, I don't know where I was going with that.

I thought it would be kinda fun for us to WALK to the library. Not a big deal, I know, but the library is a few blocks away and Wyatt is distracted by every dandelion and rock. I felt myself getting frustrated every time he wanted to stop and see something, but I forced myself to relax and see that he was just checking stuff out. So what would have taken like 20 minutes to walk, turned out to be a 45 hike.

Wyatt liked the library but it wasn't some crazy awesome experience. He was more occupied with the toys there and really had no interest in reading. I snapped a picture of him looking at a book, but literally 3 minutes later he was over it and back at the toys.

I could FEEEEEEL the eyes of the other parents on me while we were there. I'm sure they thought it was ridiculous that I brought my kid to play with toys at the library and wasn't teaching him to read or something. Meh. I kept trying to push the notion out of my brain that I was being silently judged, but dude, I mean, everyone was really staring at me.

We rolled out after an hour and then walked over to the mall so Wyatt could grab a slice of pizza. It was a pretty good day.
