So... we went hiking.
Like, for real hiking. With our 3 year old. We had a random idea to try and find some very easy trails for Wyatt to conquer, but what we didn't realize was the trail that we actually went on was kinda the real deal. I mean, it wasn't the craziest hike by any means, but it was a definite incline and my legs are achy as I type this. Wyatt did super well considering the length of the hike and how steep it was. I actually ended up carrying him on my back a lot (of course he only wanted ME and wouldn't let Josh carry him for some weird reason) which made him happy, but for about a mile of it I'd say he did himself. If you're ever in the area, I totally recommend Hacienda Hills Trails near the City of Industry (California). I was shockingly surprised by how beautiful it was up there. We did the Coyote trail that was 1.3 miles, so in reality we did 2.6 miles all around. Again, we were a little in over our heads with Wyatt, but we persevered. I'm pretty sure Wyatt will only get better at hiking and pretty soon will be kicking all of our asses.
But the best part!?
Look at how many calories I burned doing that hike for 2 hours. Isn't that just insane? I'm sure a lot of it had to do with carrying Wyatt all over the place, but whatever. I brought a bunch of Medifast bars with me (Josh totally stole one and loved it- and he's extremely picky) and it truly fueled me enough for the hike. I really like that I have the option of throwing a Medifast bar in my backpack and going. I've said this plenty of times, but Medifast really is so convenient. I'm so glad I have this alternative for me right now. For those that are curious, I used the Polar Heart Rate monitor to track my burned calories.
If you're looking for a no-brainer way to lose weight, I'd definitely encourage you to try Medifast. And no, not because they told me to say that (because they didn't and would never), but because it actually does work. It's very easy, and you can't lose. At this point in my life I don't feel like over thinking my diet, and I kinda just want someone to hold my hand. Medifast is definitely doing that for me with all of their convenience.
