It's funny how a kid changes from summer to summer. Last summer Wyatt didn't have that much fear of the pool. He watched his cousins jumping in and he thought the pool was awesome. He wore his little life vest and doggy paddled all around the pool.
Since the weather has gotten warmer, Wyatt has been begging again to go to the pool. Since we literally live right behind the pool, we go over at least once a day for the past week. Wyatt usually just hangs out around the stairs of the pool, but actually refuses to get off of them. I wasn't going to push him to swim if he didn't want to, but I was trying to encounrage him to go for it. I tried to remind him of how he would swim last summer, but of course he doesn't remember. I hoped that just telling him he used to do it would give him courage, but since he can't remember, it's like it never happened.
Over the weekend Josh worked with Wyatt in the pool, showing him that he'll be okay and he'll definitely float with the life preserver on. It's all it took! Now Wyatt is jumping into the pool and is back to loving the water again.
